Built in 1914, Hāwera's now iconic Water Tower was a defence against fires which had ravaged the town.
Climb the 215-step tower to see spectacular views over the town and surrounding district. The tower is open daily, contact the South Taranaki isite at its base for access (55 High Street). A small entry fee applies.
