P&P Engineering Consultants is a 100% NZ owned and operated multi-discipline engineering consultancy based in Taranaki. Our office is in the middle of the CBD so you’ll have access to cafes, restaurants, bars and less than a 5 min walk to the coastal walkway!
Due to ongoing growth, we are on the hunt for an experienced Senior Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Designer.
We work alongside clients to effectively deliver their engineering, design, compliance, procurement and project needs. The industries we work with include energy, water, dairy, food, resins and bulk storage. We work collaboratively in-house and with clients to find the right solutions because we simply love to “engineer” things.
We have exciting opportunities ahead and we are looking for a talented Senior Instrument & Electrical Designer. We want a well-rounded Designer who is flexible, self-motivated and a team player with a high degree of initiative, excellent communication skills and takes pride in their work.

What you’ll be doing:
Carry out design preparation as required with minimal supervision
Check work packages of other designers
Attend relevant discipline design meetings
Ensure client design standards are adhered to
Maintain design files for projects undertaken
Ensure completed drawing packages are filed/archived
Determine verification needs and work is error free
About You:
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relevant industry (electrical diploma or equivalent qualifications are a bonus)
Extensive knowledge of I&E design and P&ID’s,
Have had consistent use of I&E Engineering and design standards, systems and processes
Ensuring designs are fit for purpose
Experience in mentoring junior designers
Experience in feasibility studies, preliminary designs, cost estimations and detailed designs
A good working knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and standards
