About CRV
CRV is a pioneering, innovative herd improvement company that is leading the way in dairying in New Zealand. We are part of the Global CRV group with locations in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Australia.
As a business, our goal is to help dairy farmers achieve the healthiest and most efficient herd. We do this through collaborating with farmers and offering them the best genetic tools and information to achieve their farming goals.
Innovation is key to our business, and we aim to proactively manage ongoing changing market demands by offering innovative solutions tailored to our customers’ needs both in New Zealand and overseas.
About the role
Herd testing is a critical part of our data capture service, which assists farmers with managing their herd, their genetics, and the profitability of their businesses. The data is also used as an integral part of CRV’s genetic improvement programme.
This is a seasonal role starting immediately to May 2025, and you’ll be working alongside our farmer customers in the milking shed so early starts are all part of the fun. The role is mobile and primarily covers the Taranaki region, so you must be comfortable with travelling long distances, sometimes staying overnight if required.
You get to manage and plan your own workload and can expect to work around 30 hours per week. The hours are flexible to cover milking times and the role offers great variety in that you’ll get to work with different people, in a different location every day.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
Some knowledge of dairy farming would be ideal but full on-job training is provided.
The ability to develop strong working relationships with the farmers in your territory.
The ability to carry out physical work and work flexible hours including early starts.
To be able to stay away overnight if needed.
The ability to work safely alongside cows in the milking shed.
Good written and verbal communication skills and a sense of humour!
A full driver’s licence.
CRV benefits
CRV is part of a global brand that is committed to improving the future of the dairy industry. This role offers competitive rates, a CRV vehicle and the benefit of working in a small close-knit team.
Applicants for this position must be eligible to work in NZ.
