We're looking for an experienced Quality and Compliance Business Partner to join our Three Waters Team at the New Plymouth District Council. In this pivotal role, you'll provide specialist advice and support the implementation and promotion of quality management, health and safety, environmental compliance, and emergency management practices. Your work will be key to ensuring we meet the highest standards across our water, wastewater, and stormwater services.

Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:

- Support the Quality and Compliance Lead to develop the quality and compliance strategy to enhance the performance of the Operational Excellence Group
- Provide specialist advice for the implementation and enhancement of quality, environmental compliance, health and safety and emergency response management systems and processes specific for the infrastructure group
- Support the maintenance, communication, implementation and compliance of quality, environmental compliance and emergency management policies, procedures and systems
- Support the Quality and Compliance Lead to implement the internal audit programme and ensure timely reporting of compliance
- Support the investigation and reporting of incidents/learning opportunities (events)
- Monitor implementation of corrective actions for significant audits and events
- Project management as requested by Quality and Compliance Lead
- Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation

Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Science or Environmental Engineering
- Qualification and/or experience in quality management, or in a quality control laboratory, auditing and ISO standards and/or HACCP (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of information management systems
- Knowledge of health and safety management systems
- Knowledge of environmental compliance
- Knowledge of emergency management
