Due to one of our teachers following her dream into nursing, we are looking for a qualified registered Early Childhood teacher to join our friendly team.
We are looking for a person who is:
• Passionate about environmental sustainability and wants to support the care of our local environment.
• A reliable team player – Someone who understands how to be a great team member, has a great sense of humour, uses their initiative, and can work well with a wide range of people.
• Confident and capable at identifying children’s unique strengths, interests, working theories, learning dispositions, progress, and next steps for learning.
• Knowledgeable in Te Whariki, Taataiako and ECE pedagogy.
• A great communicator (written and verbal), with good time management skills.
• Energetic! We are looking for someone who can get involved and join in boisterous play.
• Great with ICT - We use Storypark and ipads to share and celebrate children’s learning and progress, as well as Google Drive.
• Is more than a basic te reo Maori speaker and incorporates te reo Maori every day.
• Holding a NZ recognised ECE diploma or degree and a NZ work permit (if required).
Our Kindergarten is situated in the small coastal sea-side town of Opunake in Taranaki, with amazing purpose-built facilities. We are an innovative community-own early childhood education centre with a dedicated enthusiastic teaching team as well as excellent ratios. We cater for up to 60 children each day (over two rooms) aged 0 to 6yrs.
The position is full time Monday to Friday during school terms (option of 4 days/week) and salary is based on the NZEI ECECA collective agreement.
We will consider applicants for a Teacher in Training position, who are nearing the end of their 3rd year of study in gaining their ECE Degree Level 7.
