Te āheinga - The opportunity
As a result of NPDCs Organisation Transformation Review, a number of new teams and roles have been created, including the Project Management Office (PMO). NPDC has over $1B of capital projects to deliver over the next decade and the PMO plays a crucial role in delivering this significant investment efficiently and effectively for our community.
We are seeking a motivated and aspiring project manager to fill our vacant Graduate Project Manager role. As a key member of the project delivery team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of important infrastructure projects.
Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:
- Undertake project management activities aligned to Councils Portfolios, Programme and Project Management (P3M) Framework
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare project documentation, including reports, presentations, and status updates
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and communication with internal and external teams
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience
You will ideally hold relevant tertiary or project management accreditation, with a minimum of five years' experience, plus:
- strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- a desire to learn and progress in the industry, being involved in projects that make a difference in our community
- excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- proficiency in project management software and tools.
Desirable:
Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)
