About the role

As the GM of Business Operations, you will oversee and lead the day-to-day business operations of Ara Ake as well as contributing to the overall leadership of the organisation nationally as a key member of the senior leadership team. Supporting the Chief Executive, you will be tasked with working towards the successful delivery of all business objectives.

This role will focus on:
Nurturing a positive and collaborative culture and working environment.
Developing your team through coaching, mentoring and encouraging learning opportunities.
Ensuring corporate governance is continuously adhered to.
Overseeing the financial management of the business operations including monitoring financial strategies, risk and compliance.
Management of day-to-day business operations and facilities, policies and procedures and performance frameworks.
Oversee Ara Ake’s external communications, digital activities and events/conferences.
Work collaboratively with and support the board including preparing board papers and writing minutes and reports.
Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, you will have a solid leadership background in preferably a commercial environment with a focus on people management and leadership.
5+ years in a business operations leadership role with demonstrated experience managing a team
Experience in Company governance – understanding relevant legislative and compliance obligations
Demonstrated experience writing board papers, reports and minutes
Tertiary qualification in business, human resources, management, finance or another related field
Demonstrated experience in financial management of a business or business unit
Ability to actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
