Fire Security Services (FSS) is shaking up the industry! We are a privately-owned business and a market leader for fire protection and building compliance services across New Zealand. The fire protection industry may not sound the most glamorous of industries, but it’s a great industry to work in. On the back of customers loving what we stand for and our burning desire (excuse the pun) to transform the industry and have recently acquired some significant new customers increasing the workload.

We provide our customers with 24/7 callout support to urgent faults.

One full-time position is available with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday.

This role is based in our New Plymouth office and you will cover the Taranaki region.

Normal hours of work are negotiable generally start between 7-9am and finish between 4-6 pm.

Your role will include but not be limited to:

Diagnosing system faults
Repairing faults
Minor installation work
On-Call to attend afterhours call outs.
The nature of the work involves keeping cool under pressure and thinking on your feet to problem solve. Your positive attitude, effective communication skills and sense of humour will help you to get along with customers and the team.

You will need to hold:

A clean, full NZ driver licence
Affinity to work at heights
Ability to be part of On Call Roster
Preferably hold NZQA Fixed Fire Systems L4 or be working towards this qualification
A minimum of 3 years’ experience with fire sprinklers using NZ Standards
A plumbing background may be considered.
Be familiar with relevant NZS 4501 and the Building Act.
Great customer service and communication skills
Sound technical and problem-solving skills.
Clean Criminal history record
You will ideally hold a valid work visa when you submit your application.
Complete a pre-employment drug test.
