This is a rare opportunity to join our high performing Communications and Marketing Team on a fixed-term basis as a Digital Communications and Marketing Adviser.

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, fixed-term role until July 2026.

Venture Taranaki/Te Puna Umanga is seeking a dynamic Digital Communications Adviser to join our Destination Team, which includes the Communications and Marketing, and Visitor and Tourism functions.

Venture Taranaki/Te Puna Umanga is at the forefront of economic development and investment initiatives, and our Digital Communications and Marketing Adviser plays an instrumental role in driving our digital strategies across a range of channels.

As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of Venture Taranaki and the region by providing smart and sustainable communications and marketing support.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact content across our digital channels to grow our audiences and stimulate awareness and engagement. You will maintain our online presence, and contribute creatively to our marketing and communications initiatives to build both the Venture Taranaki and Taranaki Like No Other brands.

You will have had previous experience across a range of digital and social channels, with proven experience in effective content creation to target different audiences, plus experience in managing a comprehensive website as well as SEO/SEM.

Ngā kawenga matua / Key responsibilities
Planning and delivery of digital marketing campaigns, activities, and promotions, including promotion of Major Events
Maintaining and developing the online presence of both Venture Taranaki and the Taranaki Like No Other regional brand, through a range of social media channels, and VT’s comprehensive Taranaki.co.nz and Venture.org.nz website
Content production across multiple formats for both social media and web
Digital reporting across web (GA4) and social
Management of image and content libraries, including assisting with content requests and image licencing
Assist in the development, provision, and monitoring of various print and electronic communications and marketing material
Creatively contribute to idea generation and strategy development across the full marketing and communication spectrum.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako / Skills and experience
Ideally a tertiary qualification in communications or marketing or an equivalent
At least 3 years’ experience within a digital marketing role
Proven experience across a range of digital and social channels (including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube) and delivering digital marketing activity to target key audiences
Previous experience with SEO/SEM, and the ability to apply this across digital platforms
Strong analytical and reporting skills, including knowledge of GA4, and the ability to translate data and analytics into insights to inform decision making
Past experience managing a large and complex website, as well as a DAM
Knowledge and demonstrable experience in effective digital content creation
Ability to adapt complex information for a range of different audiences
Advanced computer literacy and written communication skills
Commitment to ongoing learning and observation within the relevant disciplines
The ability to juggle multiple projects and activities, and meet deadlines under pressure
