Court Security Officer - Hawera
Hawera District Court - Permanent, Full Time

As Court Security Officers we take pride in serving our community by providing a safe and secure environment for people to gain access to the justice system, without fear of intimidation or violence. Our roles have variety and we get great satisfaction in our work. We interact, assist and build relationships with diverse groups of people every day, to provide a safe and secure court environment.
We receive great training, sharing our knowledge and experience across our national network which supports us becoming successful in our careers.

This will be an overview of your role:
Engage and build relationships with a diverse range of people
Security screening, operate and maintain CCTV and electronic access systems
Interacting with other agencies (i.e. Police, Corrections) to ensure smooth court operations
Patrol public areas and carry out building security checks, responding to duress alarm activations and identify and respond appropriately to security incidents
He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
Customer service experience is desired
Confident in using technology
Experience of de-escalating conflict
Physically able to engage in full contact Officer safety training
Hold full, clean New Zealand drivers' licence and clean criminal record

This is a 40 hour a week role with some paid overtime available when extra cover is required. Rostered hours may include a minimum 4-hour shift on Saturdays.
