Cattle and Equine Veterinarian (Full or Part-time)
Fairlane Veterinary Services is looking to add another large animal veterinarian to the team. We are a growing cattle and equine only ambulatory clinic based in Awatuna, Taranaki (between Kaponga and Opunake). Our client base is cattle and equine (about a 50/50 split). If you have a preference for working on cattle, we strive to have your workload more cattle orientated, and vice versa for equine.

Flexibility of schedule: we are happy to work with you on the flexibility of your schedule. Young kids have a sporting event, not a problem! Family is important to us.
Minimal after hours: our owner does the bulk of the after hours calls, so there is minimal after hours duties. Do as much or as little as you like. You will be paid additional for any after hours you do.
Transparency: we value communication amongst our team and everyone has a say in the way Fairlane Veterinary Services runs, functions and grows.
Supportive Team: you will be surrounded by senior vets, a technician and amazing office staff. If there are any areas of interest you want to gain more experience with we are happy to help make that happen.
Innovation: We are always looking for how to do things better and get better outcomes, especially with reproductive efficiencies on dairy farms! New ideas and brainstorming sessions amongst all staff occurs frequently!
What we are looking for:
Qualified veterinarian with a NZ Annual Practicing Certificate
Strong communication skills: being able to effectively communicate ideas, and collaboration on cases with co-workers as well as effectively communicate treatment plans, and prognosis with clients is a must.
Flexibility and adaptability: Let's face it emergencies arise at all times of the day and schedules can get mucked up because of it. Being flexible when schedules have to be swapped around to accommodate urgent calls is necessary.
Experience: there is a preference for a veterinarian with at least 1 year of experience with cattle and or equine. However, this is not necessary, and we are happy to look at new graduate's application as well!
