We specialise in the design, procurement, implementation, and support of corporate ICT infrastructure solutions including those delivered via the cloud.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in New Plymouth.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position working largely across our Enterprise customers, this position provides technical expertise to implement and support server and storage infrastructure – on premise or in the cloud.
What you'll do for us
Provide Microsoft Server OS and Application implementation and support, including cloud services.
Microsoft Desktop OS and Application support.
Data centre infrastructure hardware support; Server, Storage, Network and Backup media – Cisco\HP \DELL\NetApp etc.
General Corporate end user support and Technical fault analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Implementing solutions, including new or enhanced systems, technology, or infrastructure.
Monitoring, administrating, and reporting on infrastructure platform systems and functions e.g. backups.
Ensuring all relevant documentation is reviewed on a regular basis and updated as and when required.
Performing capacity analysis on existing systems and recommending system expansion or other appropriate solutions.
Accurate and timely logging of activity.
What you'll bring in your Kit bag
One major certification such as MSP, MCSE, CNE, VCP or equivalent qualification
One or more Vendor qualifications
Technical involvement in large / medium scale projects.
Microsoft Server and desktop OS and Application implementation and support, including cloud services
A sound understanding of the connectivity between desktop, server and network hardware, as well as functioning across a distributed environment.
Proficiency across the following areas:
Core Microsoft technologies (AD, Printing, DHCP, DNS)
Cloud technologies (Office365, Exchange Online, Azure and AWS)
Virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V).
Storage technologies (SAN, DAS, NAS)
Data protection, backup and recovery (Veeam, Commvault, Shadow Protect, ASR etc)
Microsoft application knowledge would be beneficial, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Teams
Platform monitoring and management e.g. SCCM and SCOM
Windows deployment and patching
PowerShell scripting, process automation
Confidence to engage with our clients, and talk them through benefits of the solution you are recommending.
However, soft-skills and a willingness to learn are more important.
