INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL (I&E) TECHNICIAN



We are seeking an I&E Technician to join our team based in the Taranaki region. As a member of the Maintenance Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment on Production Stations and well sites. The I&E Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all instrument and electrical plant equipment and systems. The Greymouth work environment is fast paced, varied and never dull.



Key Responsibilities

Perform and document scheduled maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of instruments, electrical equipment and control systems.
Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, control valves, switches, solenoids etc.
Work with MCCs, VSD’s, Gas and Liquid Metering, and Gas Chromatographs.
Undertake construction project work to install instrumentation, electrical equipment, control systems and associated wiring / tubing / supports.
Maintain files, logs and drawings for all designated instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Maintain instrumentation and electrical spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability.
Assist engineers and managers in commissioning and function tests.


Experience and Knowledge

NZ Certificate Level 4 in Industrial Measurement and Control (Instrumentation or equivalent)
NZ Certificate Level 4 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Dual trade Electrical and Instrumentation
NZ Electrical Registration
At least 3 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Experience in metering maintenance and calibration (beneficial but not essential).
Mature interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
Strong organisational and data skills, including attention to detail, record keeping, administration, task ownership and meeting deadlines.
