About the opportunity
Based at our Whareroa site in South Taranaki, this fixed term position is an essential part of our environmental team, reporting to our Environmental Manager. Playing your part in ensuring we remain environmentally responsible and compliant.
This is a crucial role for the success of our site operation, so you’ll need to be a strong communicator who can work with internal and external stakeholders. Please note, this is a fixed term opportunity until April 2025, working day shifts, four days on x four days off, 5am – 5pm.
You may also work alongside other Environmental Operators, where you will be responsible for monitoring wastewater treatment equipment, gardens and groundskeeping, and ensuring the quality of our environmental discharges (wastewater and stormwater) are compliant and operating in a sustainable manner.
About you
We are looking for a self-motivated individual, who has a strong work ethic and positive attitude. We want to hear from you if you have:
· Great communication and relationship skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· A high degree of fitness and physical capability for outdoor work
· Wastewater treatment experience is desirable, but not essential
· Some exposure to environmental compliance and management systems (with reference to ISO 14001)
· A genuine commitment and passion for environmental sustainability
· Experience in Excel and data analysis with a natural flair for proactive problem-solving
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ideally, experience within a manufacturing and /or agricultural industry environment.
· Mechanical aptitude. Driving a small tractor with mower and ride on mower is required for this role.
· A full drivers license is essential
